Pia Toscano got elimated from American Idol but gets record deal

In a shocking episode of American Idol last week, the favorite “Pia Toscano” got eliminated. Pia who performed mostly slow songs, such as Celine Dion’s songs, had amazed the judges and viewers with her voice and talent. Most people thought she was the top contender to win it all this year, but maybe that is why they did not vote for her. Judges were even shocked that she got eliminated.

After her elimination on Thursday night, Interscope records was quick to reach her and offer a recording contract. Interscope is said to be looking for top writers to put an album for her quickly, while she is hot.

I personally think that she was the best one this year in American Idol and even tough she came in 7th place, she will go on to be bigger than all the other contestants this year and she may be one of the best Idol ever had.

Two American Idol Contestants Go Home

Last week at the American Idol show two constants wee sent home, instead of one, due to judges saving one contestant the week before. Read who went home and see if America got it right.

The two that went home were Thia Megia and Naima Adedapo. The contestants had performed Elton John covers. Naima did a reggae rendiation of “I am still standing”, that I personally thought was not that bad and voted for her, so I was surprised to see her go. I think even tough she got booted early, she may have a successful career, as she has the voice, looks and she is a great performer with her dance moves. 16-year-old Thia was the yougest remaining contestant.

The pair did several interviews after the show, including “Regies and Kelly.” Both said they would not have done anything differently. Thia also added that she sang the song to her brother, so she had many emotions while singing.

American Idol judges save Casey Abrams

Last night in the results show of American Idol, most viewers were shocked to hear that favorite Casey Abrams had received the lowest votes and was going to be eliminated unless the judges save him. It was a very important night for the contestants as there were only 11 remaining and the Top 10 move on and also will perform in the summer tour, which means opportunity for the contestants to make some money.

The show featured a cameo by Hulk Hogan and a performance by Jennifer Hudson. Casey Abrams who is also a musician and plays the bass, has a very unique style and is one of the judges favorites this season.

Casey received the lowest votes this week. At the end of the show Casey Abrams was asked to perform one more time so the judges could decided if they want to save him. However, only a few seconds into the song, the judges stopped him. “We know who you are Casey, we don’t need to see anymore,” said Randy Jackson. “We made a decision to keep you on,” said Steven Tyler.

Casey Abrams was very shocked and he approached the judges with tears and thanked them. Ryan Seacrest announced that all 11 remaining contestants will no perform in the summer tour as it was a decision made before in case something like this happens.

Next week 2 people will be eliminated.

Paula Abdul & Maria Carey may be judges on X Factor

Simon Cowell announced that the judges have not been finalized for the US version of X Factor. However, there are a few candidates he is looking at. The short list includes Paula Abdul, Maria Carey, George Michael, former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and Nicki Minaj. Simon said “it’s not only my decision you know.” Apparently, FOX is also deciding who should be on that panel.

Simon added: “I have to make sure we have a lot of Americans working on the show to begin with. I’ve got to have people on the panel with me who can judge American talent because I’m 51 years old, I’m British and we’ve got people as young as 14 entering this competition. This is an American competition for American contestants. From a pride point of view, they want to make this the best show they’ve ever done.”

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

There is a perception out there that only men watch the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. This is definitely a myth. As a woman, I love watching the Victoria’s Secret fashion show for how much it empowers me as a woman. This show truly inspires me to gain confidence as a woman. I love how this show embraces femininity and the beauty of the female figure.

This show always features models with the craziest costumes. I love watching the fashion show on my satellite tv. One sees models with the craziest costumes, ranging from sweet little angels to little devils or witches. This show truly tries to be over the top and succeeds in doing so. One will get to see the latest collections from Victoria’s Secret by watching this show. There are so many different types of bras and corsets featured on this show. One truly is exposed to all sorts of lingerie.

I find myself always rushing to the store after watching this show to pick up the newest line of bras from Victoria’s Secret. I am always inspired to be more fashionable in my under garments, because this show truly features the latest in fashion. Overall, this is one of the best fashion shows to watch on television for anyone with an interest in fashion. I highly recommend this great show for anyone.(click for more)

Jennifer Lopez debuts new video on American Idol

On last Thursday American Idol, Jennifer Lopez, who seats as a judge this season, debuted her latest video “On the Floor” co-performed with Pitbull. The song will be on J-Lo’s upcoming album called “Love.”

The song has also hit #9 on Billboard, the first time J-Lo has been in Top 10 since 2003′s #1 track “All I have.”

Dressed in a glittery, gold outfit, Lopez is seen in several long shots, dangling lazily on a couch. Between shots of the Miami rapper, the video returns to scenes of Lopez dressed in a sexy, skintight catsuit dancing in front of a gold cardio barre.

One strange thing that stood out to me when I was listening to the song was that part of the singing in one section of the song sounded like the song “Lambada” from the 90s’s. I wonder if they got permission to copy that melody or if we are looking to have another lawsuit soon.

The Charlie Sheen Drug

The past week was a roller coaster week for Charlie Sheen. He appeared on several shows defending himself and making many wild comments after CBS cancelled the remaining four tapings of “Two and a half men” due to comments Charlie Sheen had made about creators of the show on radio.

Last Tuesday when he was on ABC’s 20/20 and was asked about using drugs and he answered “Yeah, I’m on a drug. It’s called Charlie Sheen. It’s not available, because if you try it once, you will die. Your face will melt off, and your children will weep over your exploded body.”

In response to being bi-polar he said “I’m bi-winning! I win here and I win there.”

Charlie Sheen who was in drug rehab in January claimed that he has been clean ever since and anyone can run tests on him. He also was tested after he finished his rehab for drugs while a TV camera crew taped him. The results came back clean.

Charlie Sheen is also in middle of custody battle with is ex-wife Denise Richards for his twin kids. Charlie Sheen has been living with 2 porn stars and claims that the leaving environment is very healthy for the kids and they have a normal life and he invites anyone to come see it for themselves.

Finally, last week, Charlie Sheen opened a Twitter account and posted for the first time. Within 3 days he had over one million followers and has broken Guiness Book of World Records for the person to reach one million followers in shortest time on Twitter.

2 Questions from last night’s Oscars answered

The 2 questions most people wanted answered from last night’s Oscars is 1) How old is Kirk Douglas? and 2) How many times did Anne Hathaway change her dress?

For those youngsters who did not recognize the old man speaking and announcing the Best Supporting Actress award, he was Kirk Douglas, father of Michael Douglas, an actor who has been in numerous movies, but mainly was famous in the 50′s and 60′s. His most famous movie was probably Spartacus from 1960. Many wondered how old he was and my wife even made the comment that “this guy will drop dead any second.” Well the answer is 94.

The second most famous question of last night was just how many times the host Anne Hathaway changed her dress, the answer is 8 if you count the red Valentino dress she walked in with on the red carpet.

American Idol Announces Top 24

American Idol spent the last week narrowing down from 40 contestants to 24. On Wednesday’s show, all contestants moved to Las Vegas to do covers of The Beatles. The contestants were teamed up in groups of 2 or 3 and took turns singing. There were many good performances, but a few good ones as well. The judges then got rid of a few and for the remaining they gave them a chance to sing a solo song before they cut out more people to get to 24. At the end there were 12 guys and 12 girls left as follows.
