UK police has reported that they Amy Winehouse has died at age 27. A cause of death was not released yet, but internet chatters speculated that her dead was drug related. She had been known to abuse drugs and alcohol and had entered rehab, which is very ironic as her first hot ever was called “Rehab”.

Amy had 5 grammys and has released two albums. She was praised by many for her powerful vocals, including other artists. Nick Rhodes, keyboard player from 80’s music band Duran Duran, left this message on their website: “I am truly saddened to hear that Amy has died. She was a rare artist with a unique voice, who created an elegant soundtrack for a period. I remember the first time John Taylor and I saw her perform in London, her raw talent and artistic integrity was undeniable.”

Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse, who is a jazz musician, was in New York at the time of her death preparing for some concerts. He was devastated by the news and flew back to the UK immediately, canceling all his shows. He stated: “I’m coming home. I have to be with Amy. I can’t crack up, for her sake. My family needs me.” He also had been very vocal about her daughters problems with drug abuse and had tried to help her. “Doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won’t just ruin her voice, it will kill her.”

Many are calling Amy’s death as joining the “27 Club,” which includes several others artists who dies at age 27, including Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendrix and Janice Joplin.

Amy had prepared to do a tour last June, but her first show in June 18 in Siberia was disastrous. She was so intoxicated that she could not perform and she was booed off the stage. The remaining of her tour was canceled.
