Billboard names the rock group, The All American Rejects as having the most played song in 2009. Their hit song “Gives You Hell” spent 13 weeks on the Billboard Top 10. It has sold over 3.3 million digital copies. The song is off their current album, When the World Comes Down. They beat out competitors like Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas and Taylor Swift.The song was the first number one for the band on the Top 40 chart. It spent four weeks in the number one spot making this the band’s most successful single in their history. The multi platinum group is out on tour promoting their current album and has several big events scheduled for the upcoming year. They are set to play at the Winter Olympics, Superbowl XLIV and a Direct TV special.The band first came onto the rock scene in 2002 with their song “Swing Swing.” The song was on their self titled platinum selling album. They toured for most of 2005 and then quickly released their second album titled Move Along. The double platinum album included hits “Dirty Little Secret” and “It Ends Tonight.” The band has sold over 10 million albums during their career.The all-male band formed in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1999 while they were still in high school. Band members include lead vocalist and bass guitarist Tyson Ritter, guitarists Nick Wheeler and Mike Kennerty, and drummer Chris Gaylor. Ritter and Wheeler are the original members of the band and later recruited Kennerty and Gaylor.
